Regarding the World food day October, 16 and the International day "Fighting against poverty" October, 17 DELTA MAXI company, our long-term partner, organized in cooperation with the Food Bank, a press conference on the 14th October in the Delta Holding premises. The topic of the conference was "the necessity of interaction between corresponding actors in the economic, governmental and nongovernmental sector, including the media as well, in order to raise awareness about the problem of poverty and find solution to reduce it".
The conference speakers were: Rajko Mandić, director of Delta Maxi Serbia; Gerard Alix, representative of European Federation Food Banks - FEBA, Paris; Miroslava Andjelić, representative of Food Bank Serbia, Ljubomir Pejaković, advisor with the Ministry of Labor and Social Politics; Lidija Ćulibrk, psycologist and editor of the magazine "Lepota i zdravlje" and the moderator Milica Babić, CSR Manager, Delta Maxi.
The action of collecting basic food for the socialy vulnerable population registered in the social welfare centers in the municipalities Kuršumlija, Sečanj and Mladenovac, was annouced at the conference. In the mentioned action 8,5 t..of food was collected which will be packed and distributed to 2300 vulnerables in the noted centers.

In cooperation with RTV B92, within the action "Hunger strike against starvation", Food bank distributed a significant donation of 4,7 t. of chocolates from the company SOKO ŠTARK - Droga Kolinska Group member, to the following associations: Humanitarian center "Kraljica Marija" Novi Sad (250 children), Association "Čarolija" Grocka (70), Association "Dečije srce" Belgrade (70), Association of single parents Plandište (150), Association "Živimo zajedno" Belgrade (75), Association of single mothers Niš (250), Association of single mothers Kruševac (118), Kinder garden Paraćin (90 children whose parents are users of soup kitchens), Association of paraplegics Belgrade (460), Association of single parents Belgrade (314), Association of women "Kneginja Milica" Kragujevac (360), Association for helping people with mental problems - MNRO Niš (300), Center for social welfare Mladenovac (360), municipality organization of work invalids Plandište (650 members), Center for youth integration (35), Elementary school „Sava Jovanović-Sirogojno" Zemun (30 pupils): total of 3.572 persons (mostly children).
Also, a donation from the DROGA KOLINSKA group member, company GRAND, 300 kg of coffee, was distributed to the Gerontology center - daily centers and clubs, within Belgrade municipalities, as well as 20 boxes of tea from the company Vitamin Horgoš.
Company NECTAR, Novi Sad, donated 500 lit. of juice to the users of the Humanitarian center „Kraljice Marije" Novi Sad.
Donation of 100 kg puff-paste from the company FRIKOM, Food bank distributed to the Children's shelter and mentally challenged youth center „Dr.Nikola Sumenkovic" Stamnica.
Dr.OETKER donated 50,000 bags of baking powder which was distributed to the soup kitchens in Serbia through Red Cross of Serbia.
On behalf of the beneficiaries who received the mentioned donations, we are greatful to the donors as well as to RTV B92 for supporting Food Bank activites.
The call for solidarity with the socially vulnerable was answered by the employees of the SOCIETE GENERALE Bank Serbia throughout their representative branches in Serbia, who collected 2,58 t. of basic food within this action. Food bank distributed the donated goods to the Association of paraplegics Belgrade, Humanitarian center „Kraljica Marije" Novi Sad and to the Association for helping people with mental problems in Niš, for their members.
Food bank is thankful to the SGS's employees who have showed humanity and solidarity with their donations.

Mid October two representatives from the European Federation of Food banks - FEBA visited Food bank Belgrade and confirmed that the conditions were met for becoming a full member of FEBA. At that point a Pre-Accession contract was signed in Belgrade, and, at the steering committee held in Paris, on October, 24th , the membership of Food Bank Belgrade in FEBA was officially confirmed.
