On 8th November, the Food bank distributed to the mentioned Shelter, 150 kg of coffee and 110 kg of chocolates, a donation from the company SOKO ŠTARK AD, a member of the Droga Kolinska Group.
During the period 05.11 - 14.11.09, the Food bank distributed a large donation 8,5 tons of basic food from the donation of DELTA MAXI in cooperation with their 18 suppliers, to 2300 socially vulnerable (single parents, refugees and displaced people etc.) through the Centers for social welfare in Mladenovac, Kuršumlija and Sečanj, as well as in other municipalities in the region where the vulnerable are the most numerous.
The call for solidarity with the socially vulnerable was answered by the employees of the National bank of Serbia, thereby on the 9th and 10th November, in cooperation with the Food bank, an action was organized in which basic food was collected in branch offices in Kralja Petra and Slavija. A part of this donation 385 kg Food bank, on 10th November, distributed to the socially vulnerable families (single mothers and families with many children) in Grocka and surrounding areas, through the Association "Čarolija" from Grocka.
The other part of the donation, 217 kg, was distributed on 13.11.09. to the most vulnerable families through the Center for social welfare Palilula.
To the pupils of the elementary school "Sava Jovanović – Sirogojno" in Zemun, 100kg of sweets was delivered for their lunch breaks – a donation from the companies Aleksandrija and Soko Štark - the member of Droga Kolinska Group.
Mr. Ken Sooly, deputy Canadian ambassador, visited the Food bank's warehouse on the 11th November, on the occasion of delivery of 700 kg of pasta, a donation by the Canadian club, within the action by Delta Maxi organized in regards to the World food day.
MTV Crew – Hungarian National TV from Novi Sad and Duna TV (satellite program) made a reportage, on 23rd November, about the Food bank as a “one of a kind” association in Serbia. In the interview with Miroslava Andjelić, with footage of the prepared food donations in the warehouse, as well as the distribution itself to the Roma vulnerable in the area Kijevo-Knjaževac, Municipality Rakovica, organized by City Center for social welfare, it was discussed about the goal and mission of the Food bank, its role in fighting hunger and poverty in Serbia, its accomplished results, compared to the role of Food banks in Europe and its recent membership in the European Federation of Food banks (FEBA).
